How It Works

Office furniture planning depends on measurements, quantities, prices, and assumptions that vary from one project to another. Each calculator on this site answers a defined numerical question using the inputs and method shown on its page.

1. Choose a calculator for the question

Use the calculator directory to find a tool related to the decision you are working through, such as room and furniture fit, workstation or seating capacity, furniture quantities, budget comparisons, or moving and installation estimates. A calculator is useful only when its stated scope matches your question.

2. Use measured or project-specific inputs

Enter dimensions from the space and product information you are evaluating. For cost tools, use the prices or rates available to you; the site does not fetch current vendor prices. Check the displayed units before entering values, and distinguish a measured dimension from an allowance or planning assumption.

3. Review how the result is produced

The calculator processes the submitted inputs and returns the outputs defined for that tool. Where provided, review the formula or interpretation, intermediate values, unit conversions, rounding, source notes, and limitations. Results are not interchangeable across calculators because each has its own inputs and calculation scope.

4. Check the result against the real project

Compare the result with measurements, product specifications, written quotes, site conditions, and other relevant records. A numeric fit or capacity result does not account for unentered features such as columns, doors, circulation, accessibility, egress, or installation constraints unless the particular calculator explicitly includes them.

Planning estimates have limits

A calculator result is not a site inspection, furniture design, purchase quote, installation plan, or determination of building, fire, accessibility, occupational-safety, or other regulatory compliance. For decisions that depend on those matters, verify the applicable requirements and obtain qualified review.
